Step 1: Open ORAS/ SY
Step 2: Leave the first spot in box 1 empty
Step 3: Press Home button
IMPORTANT LEAVE POKEMON ORAS/XY SUSPENDED
Step 4: Press L+R
Step 5: Click on the icon to scan QR code
Step 6: Scan a code
Step 7 Enjoy!

    I hope you aren't using the new 3DS or new 3DS XL and are keeping the character facing the PC box when ORAS is in suspended mode.
